Your tour representative will meet you at the airport upon arrival. The 40-metre golden Botataung Pagoda near the jetty, one of the most revered temples enshrining a Sacred Hair Relic of Lord Buddha, will be our first stop. This was built 2500 years ago andits main stupa, which contains the hair relic, is hollow and open to public.After being transferred to your hotel for a short break, we’ll head over to the Maha Wizaya Pagoda in the afternoon. The pagoda is an elegant structure atop a small hill created by donations from Buddhists all over Myanmar.A short walkaway is the magnificent sacred Shwedagon Pagoda, which is believed to enshrine eight hairs of the Gautama Buddha as well as relics of three former Buddhas. The massive bell shaped stupa is plated with gold and its tip is set with diamonds,rubies, sapphires and topaz.You can spend the entire evening praying meditating and exploring within this pagoda complex. You’ll be taken to the small town Salay, a colourful old religious centre after breakfast at your hotel. There you can enjoy the beauty of this compact city of colonial buildings, monasteries and pagodas.
Don’t miss the chance to visit the Yoke Song Kyaung Monastery, famous for its spectacular woodcarvings, on the bank of the Irrawaddy river.
Afterwards, take a 90-min drive to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano as well as a collection of 37 magical spirits honoured by a part of the Burmese. Climb 777 steps to the top of the mountain, where the Popa Mountain resort offers great views of the surroundings.

After breakfast at the hotel, be prepared for your flight to Mandalay from Nyaung U airport. Your guide will be waiting at the airport. On your way to Mandalay, visit the city of Amarapura (Immortality) – Myanmar’s penultimate Royal Capital.
One signature of this city is the 200-year-old world’s longest teak bridge U Bein’s, which is over 1.2kmlong. Arrive at Mandalay later in the morning, take your chance to see the local traditional workshops to know more about the cottage industry by observing woodcarving,gold leaf manufacturing, gold workshops and marionette production. In the afternoon, pay a visit to Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to the ‘world’s biggest book with 729 marbles slabs of Buddhist scriptures.
Continue on to the Shwenandaw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery) built in the 19th century and made entirely of finely carved teak.
In the evening,climb up the Mandalay Hill to immerse yourself in the magnificent view of sunset down the Irrawaddy river.

Let’s move to Inlay Lake, one of the most breath-taking destinations in Asia. Referred to by travellers as the ‘Venice of Asia’, this lake is home to stilt-housed villages, island-bound Buddhist temples and floating gardens. On a long-tailed boat is where you can witness the leg-rowing fishermen with a unique style of fishing. Discover the village of Inpawkhone containing many handicraft shops and warehouses that produce silk, gold, silver and so on.
There’s Phaungdawoo Pagoda on the lake housing the five most revered Buddha images in the state, which you may also consider taking a look at.

After breakfast, take a walk around the town or continue your journey on the lake, or visit the morning market that rotates between the town area and the lake.
Continue to the western bank of the lake in the afternoon by boat, through a small canal to the village of Indein. Here you can learn about ethnic life of Pa-Oh Tribal community in the region.
You can also find a stupa-covered hill, a complex of 1054 stupas known as the Shwe Inn Thein Paya, giving fascinating views down the lake.

Earlier in the evening, visit the 2000 year old golden Sule Pagoda located at the centre of the city, a great example of modern Asian business life melding with ancient Burmese tradition. Spend your evening here praying and meditating while observing its unusual design: a spiral octagon shape that continues up the pagoda to the spire.
After sunset, visit to the China Town before getting back to your hotel.
