After breakfast at the hotel, be prepared for your flight to Mandalay from Nyaung U airport. Your guide will be waiting at the airport. On your way to Mandalay, visit the city of Amarapura (Immortality) – Myanmar’s penultimate Royal Capital.
One signature of this city is the 200-year-old world’s longest teak bridge U Bein’s, which is over 1.2kmlong. Arrive at Mandalay later in the morning, take your chance to see the local traditional workshops to know more about the cottage industry by observing woodcarving,gold leaf manufacturing, gold workshops and marionette production. In the afternoon, pay a visit to Kuthodaw Pagoda, home to the ‘world’s biggest book with 729 marbles slabs of Buddhist scriptures.
Continue on to the Shwenandaw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery) built in the 19th century and made entirely of finely carved teak.
In the evening,climb up the Mandalay Hill to immerse yourself in the magnificent view of sunset down the Irrawaddy river.
